Los Materiales Peligrosos (Mat-Pel) o Hazardous Materials (Haz-Mat) son actualmente un tema de fundamental y urgente interés para todos quienes están interesados en la seguridad de vidas y bienes.

Hoy en día estos materiales son producidos, utilizados, transportados, almacenados y expendidos no sólo en las grandes industrias especializadas, sino también en pequeñas empresas, en el comercio e incluso en el ámbito domestico.

Es por ello que bomberos debe especializarse en el tema. Nuestra Compañía, como primer paso, realizó un “Curso de PRIMAP” (Primera Respuesta a Incidentes con Materiales Peligrosos), curso normado e impartido por la Academia Nacional de Bomberos.

Luego, sabiendo que las emergencias con Materiales Peligrosos es un tema particularmente complejo, ésta Compañía realizo un “Taller de Operadores de Haz-Mat” a traves de la Consultora en Prevención de Riesgo Gestión Ambiental “Küme Femnien” de Santiago, la que además donó matarial básico para que los Voluntarios prosigan con su entrenamiento.

Posteriormente y siguiendo con el camino de perfeccionarse en el tema de Haz-Mat se realizó un “Curso de Operaciones en Emergencias con Amoniaco”, diseñado e impartido por York Chile S.A. en conjunto con Küme Femnien Consultores.

Este año 2005, se retomó el perfeccionamiento con un “Taller Hidrocarburos y GLP” dictado por personal profesional del Servicio de Emergencia de Aeropuerto (SEI) de “El Tepual” de Puerto Montt; y la realización de un “Taller de PRIMAP” para nivelar a sus Voluntario.

Nuestra Compañía realizó un Curso de PRIMAP (Primera Respuesta a Incidentes con Materiales Peligrosos), curso normado e impartido por la Academia Nacional de Bomberos, aquí entregamos una clasificación de estos materiales en que encontraras el significado de las clases, sus divisiones y ejemplos de productos; esto con el fin de ayudar a familiarizar a quienes nos visitan con los rótulos de estos materiales, que en un determinado momento puede servir al resguardo de su salud.

Sabiendo que las emergencias con Materiales Peligrosos es un tema particularmente complejo la Segunda Compañía realizo un Taller de Operadores de HAZMAT a traves de la Consultora en Prevención de Riesgo y Gestión Ambiental KUME FEMNIEN de Santiago, la que además de facilitar a los profesionales que dictaron el taller, donaron material básico para que la Compañía prosiga con su entrenamiento.

El Taller fue dictado por los señores Carlos Jara Bravo, Gerente Operaciones Kume Femnien; Guillermo Troncoso Morales, Experto en Prevencion de Riesgos y Técnico en Haz-Mat; y don Felipe Fernandez Canto, Ingeniero Construcción Civil y Técnico en Haz-Mat.

Este taller que se llevo a efecto los días 11, 12, 13 y 14 de Julio, finalizo con un Ejercicio Demostrativo en la Plaza de Ancud, al cual asistio, especialmente invitada, la Señorita Ivonne Mansilla, Encargada de Emergencias de la CONAMA X Región.

Además de estar preocupados de capacitar a nuestro personal en la especialidad de HAZMAT, para este tema la Compañía cuenta con la Asesoria Juridica del señor Robinson Manzanarez y la Asesoria Química de don Cristian Siegel.

En la Comuna de Ancud, oficialmente sólo se sabe de dos industrias que trabajan con amoniaco anhídridro.

Durante tres días, 19 voluntarios de nuestra Compañía, junto a tres empleados del área de mantención de la empresa Cultivos Marinos Chiloé, se capacitaron en un Curso de Operación de Emergencias con Amoníaco, con el objeto de enfrentar adecuadamente cualquier emergencia que dicha sustancia química pudiese provocar en esta comuna.

El año 2003 se manejó una estadística de cuatro emergencias al año con sustancias peligrosas, sin embargo, durante el presente año ya se tienen registradas 14 emergencias. Este incremento nos insta a seguir capacitándonos de manera constante y adquirir el equipamiento necesario para emergencias con materiales peligrosos con los que convivimos diariamente.

El Curso Operaciones de Emergencias con Amoniaco fue diseñado por York Chile S.A. en conjunto con Küme Femmien Consultores y dictado por los señores Instructores Carlos Jara Bravo, Guillermo Troncoso Morales y Jaime Matute Mendoza (Küme Femmien) y por el Jefe Servicio Técnico de York Chile, don Patricio Gallegos Fernandez.

Los días 5 y 6 de marzo de 2005, se retomó el tema de perfeccionamiento para los Voluntarios de la Compañía con un “Taller de Hidrocarburos y GLP” dictado por personal profesional del Servicio de Emergencia de Aeropuerto (SEI) de “El Tepual” de Puerto Montt.

Con el fin de adquirir nuevos conocimientos y enfrentar emergencias mas complejas, nuestra unidad realizo en los meses de Noviembre y Diciembre de 2016, el Curso de Nivel Técnico Hazmat dictado por la empresa de Capacitación TOK  S.A. con certificacion de la Universidad de Texas.
